What is love?

Love is the high esteem God has for His children and the high regard which they, in turn, should have for Him and other people. Because of the hundreds of references of love in the Bible, it is certainly the most remarkable book of love in existence. It records the greatest love story ever written – God’s unconditional love for us.  As evidenced by God sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us.

Love is not only one of God’s attributes; it is also an essential part of His nature. “God is love,” the Bible declares – the personification of perfect love. Such love surpasses our powers of understanding. Love like this is everlasting, free, sacrificial, and enduring to the end.

A desire for this love is probably what drove you to this page. You’ve spent your whole life searching for true happiness, yet nothing has been able to fill that empty space. The stress, pain, anxiety remain and there’s no end in sight.

But there’s Hope.

We here, at Williamstown Assembly of God, have let the perfect love of God work in us. Allowing Him to do what only He can do, we have seen lives changed, marriages restored, families healed, and addictions overcome for the past 35 years; and God’s not done yet! Person after person have come to know the saving grace of Jesus and have experienced the intervention of His love throughout their lives. It’s a beautiful experience to witness.

But it all begins with Step 1.

Many people believe love is something earned. This isn’t the type of love Jesus serves. In our failure, our sin and our mistakes He still loves us. He wants to be the good Father that He is, help His child back up and teach them to walk. He’s waiting for you to accept His help. He wants to lead you to eternal peace, but first you must receive Him.

Receiving Jesus requires us to admit that we are sinners, we messed up, we fell short of all God had planned for us. Since we have fallen short of the glory of God we must ask for forgiveness, confessing our sins and put our faith in Jesus.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
